About UPSEE (UPCET) Exam 2021

UPSEE  (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) exam is a state-level entrance exam which is known as UPCET from 2021. The exam is a gateway to the students for taking admission in the professional undergraduate and postgraduate course offered by 756 institutes/colleges affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), and Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU). The exam is for all those students who wish to pursue their degrees in the field of EngineeringPharmacyManagementScienceComputer Application, etc.

The exam was formerly conducted by the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) on the behalf of The Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, Technical Education Department but form 2021 Govt. of UP has consigned the job of conducting the UPCET exam 2021 to the National Testing Agency (NTA).

NOTE: For the students who want to pursue undergraduate engineering courses, i.e., the B.Tech and B.Arch program from the institutes/colleges affiliated with AKTU, MMMUT, and HBTU, the admissions will be based on the JEE Mains 2021 exam scores but the counseling and admission process will only be done by the UPSEE (UPCET) for which students need to fill the application form from the same portal of UPSEE (UPCET)  NTA.

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam Eligibility 2021

Candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria issued by the exam conducting authority of UPSEE (UPCET) 2021 if they want to appear in the UPSEE (UPCET) exam 2021. UPSEE exam is the pathway of getting admission in the professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by more than 700 colleges/institutes affiliated with AKTU, MMMUT, and HBTU.

Tabulated below are the eligibility criteria for appearing in the UPSEE (UPCET) entrance exam 2021 for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses:

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam Registration Process 2021

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam 2021 registration process commences on 1st April 2021, which lasts till 30th April 2021 (upto 05:00 PM). All the candidates who want to participate in the exam must need to apply for the exam by filling the application form through the official website of the UPSEE (UPCET). It is an online process that involves some of the following steps:

Step 1: Registration

  • Firstly, you have to visit the official website of NTA for UPSEE (UPCET) – Click Here
  • Now Click on the tab that shows UPCET for UG 2021 – Fill Registration Form (For UG) and UPCET for PG 2021 – Fill Registration Form (For PG).

  • Now if you are a new candidate then click on the button of New Registration through which you will redirect to the registration Instructions and Procedure for online submission of the Application Form.
  • Here you need to tick the Acknowledgement by scrolling down the page and then click to Click here to Proceed.
  • Complete the process for registration by state the details, including your email ID and mobile number, etc., and get the login credentials like your Username and Password.
  • Note down this number for the remaining application process.

Step 2: Fill UPSEE (UPCET) online application form 2021

  • Re-login using this Application Number and password.
  • Fill in all the details such as parent’s name, Aadhar Card Number, gender, category, address, etc., and also the course you want to apply for.

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Upload the scanned photograph (10 Kb – 200 Kb jpg/jpeg format).
  • Upload the scanned signature (3 kb – 30 kb jpg/jpeg format).

Step 4: Fee Payment

  • After clicking Save & Next, the fee payment page will be redirected.
  • Choose payment mode (Canara Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI/Wallet).

Step 5: Final Submission

  • After completing all the steps mentioned above candidates will have to do the final submission of the UPSEE (UPCET) application form.

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam Pattern 2021

Before appearing for any exam, it is so much necessary to go through the exam pattern so that there will be no chaos at that time.

  • Mode: UPSEE (UPCET) 2021 entrance exam will be held in an online computer-based mode.
  • Question Type: The paper consists of MCQ questions.
  • Medium: For undergraduate/MBA (Integrated)/MCA (Integrated) courses - bi-lingual both in English and Hindi. For postgraduate courses English only.
  • Number of Questions: 75 to 150 objective questions.
  • Time duration: 2 to 3 hours.
  • Maximum marks: 300 to 600.
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking for the wrong answer.

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam Day Guidelines 2021

  • Candidates must carry a printed copy of the UPSEE (UPCET) 2021 Admit card, which will be available on the official website of NTA.
  • Carry your Admit Card and passport size photograph along with Photo Identity proof to the Test Centre.
  • Keep the authenticated Admit Card for further admission processes.
  • Candidates must have to report to the examination center two hours before the reporting time, for admit card and ID proof verification.
  • Entries after gate closure time will be prohibited.
  • Gadgets such as cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators/memory, or any electronics will not be allowed in the examination hall.
  • Any malpractice during the test will penalize the chance of being considered for admission and will be excluded from receiving UPSEE (UPCET) Test 2021 scores.

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam Centres

UPSEE (UPCET) Exam 2021 is going to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in more then 50 cities across the nation, 39 in Uttar Pradesh itself and 20 outside the UP state. Candidates are advised to choose the exam centers carefully because no changes can be made after the submission of the application form.

Q1. Is there any state level entrance exam for taking admission in the B.Tech and B.Arch program in Uttar Pradesh?

A1. No, there isn’t any state level entrance exam for taking admission in the B.Tech and B.Arch program in Uttar Pradesh. Students should need to take the JEE Mains if they want to take admission in the college of Uttar Pradesh for pursuing their B.Tech and B.Arch.

Q2. Can an aspirant fill in the application form if he/she is in Class 10+2 or awaiting board results?

A2. Yes, any candidate in Class 10+2 or awaiting board results is also eligible for Uttar Pradesh B.Tech and B.Arch admission.
