About GPAT Exam 2021

GPAT  (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) exam is a national level entrance exam to provide admission in the professional postgraduate pharmacy course in more than 800 colleges across the nation. The exam is for all those pharmacy graduates who wish to pursue their masters.

The exam is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA)for admitting students in 800 + colleges/universities that provide professional pharmacy postgraduate programs. GPAT is a computer-based online exam that consists of 125 questions, divided into five sections, i.e., Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Other subjects, etc. Aspiring candidates must have to complete the exam within a time duration of 3 hours.

GPAT Exam 2021: Registration Process

GPAT Exam 2021 registration process commences on 23rd December 2020, which lasts till 30th January 2021. All the candidates who want to participate in the exam must need to apply for the exam by filling the application form through the official website of the GPAT NTA. It is an online process that involves some of the following steps:

Step 1: Registration

  • Firstly, you have to visit the official website of NTA for GPAT – Click Here
  • Now, fill in all the required details, i.e., Name, Email ID, Mobile No., etc.
  • After this, you will be provided with the system generated Application Number.
  • Note down this number for the remaining application process.

Step 2: Fill GPAT online application form 2021

  • Re-login using this system generated Application Number and password.
  • Fill in all the details

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Upload the scanned photograph (10 Kb – 200 Kb jpg/jpeg format).
  • Upload the scanned signature (4 kb – 30 kb jpg/jpeg format).
  • PwD certificate (50 kb – 300 kb jpg/jpeg format).

Step 4: Fee Payment

  • After clicking Save & Next, the fee payment page will be redirected.
  • Choose payment mode (Canara Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm Payment Gateway through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI/Wallet).

GPAT Exam Eligibility 2021

Candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria issued by the exam conducting authority of GPAT 2021 if they want to appear in the GPAT exam 2021. GPAT exam is the pathway of getting admission in postgraduate pharmacy courses offered by more than 800 colleges/institutes in India.

Listed below are the eligibility criteria for appearing in the GPAT entrance exam 2021for the postgraduate pharmacy courses:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent with 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board.
  • Final year graduation students or those awaiting final results are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates holding the B.Tech degree in Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology or equivalent are not eligible to apply

GPAT Exam Pattern 2021

GPAT 2021 exam is going to be conducted in computer based online mode. The time duration of the exam is of 3 hours that consists of 125 questions which are divided into 5 sections. Students will have to answer all the questions within the given time duration.

  • GPAT 2021 entrance will going to be conducted in computer based online mode.
  • The paper consists of MCQ questions.
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours
  • Total no of questions: 125 Questions
  • Maximum Marks: 500
  • Each correct answer will carry a 04 mark.
  • Each wrong answer will consist of 1/4 negative marking, i.e., 01 marks will be deducted.

GPAT Exam Admission Process 2021

On the basis of the GPAT 2021 score, eligible candidates can apply to more than 800 colleges across the nation that provides postgraduate pharmacy programs such as M.Pharma and equivalent. Seat allotment is based on the merit list issued by the NTA authorities. After this, candidates can report to the institute/college to acknowledge their admission.

Candidates who cleared the GPAT 2021 have to go through the following procedure which is given below for getting final admission to an Institute.

  • Firstly, you have to fit the eligibility criteria issued by the exam conducting authority of GPAT Exam 2021.
  • Now, they have to fill the application form for GPAT 2021 through online registration mode.
  • The admit card will be issued to the candidates online itself on the official website of NTA. After this, you need to appear for the GPAT 2021 exam as per the date scheduled.
  • Candidates who qualified for the GPAT exam now have to get themselves register for the counselling rounds at the desired institute/college (dates for counselling will be announced by the NTA authorities on the official website after the declaration of the GPAT 2021 result).
  • They have to reach on time at the counselling center for document verification.

NOTE: The seat for the preferred program opted by the candidate will be provided to them according to the marks obtained in the GPAT exam.

GPAT Exam Day Guidelines 2021

  • Candidates must carry a printed copy of the GPAT 2021 Admit card, which will be available on the official website of NTA from February 13, 2021.
  • Carry your Admit Card and passport size photograph along with Photo Identity proof to the Test Centre.
  • Keep the authenticated Admit Card for further admission processes.
  • Candidates must have to report to the examination center two hours before the reporting time, i.e., 07:30 AM (for morning shift) OR 01:30 PM (for afternoon shift), for admit card and ID proof verification.
  • Entries after gate closure time will be prohibited.
  • Gadgets such as cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators/memory, or any electronics will not be allowed in the examination hall.
  • Any malpractice during the test will penalize the chance of being considered for admission and will be excluded from receiving GPAT Test 2021 scores.

FAQ Concerning GPAT 2021

Q1. I want to apply for the pharm.d course I have done my b.pharm.

A1. To get admission in D.Pharma or post-graduate degree course, you need to register yourself for GPAT 2021, which is scheduled tentatively for the 22nd and 27th February 2021. NTA released the application form on 23rd December 2020. Those who qualify for the test will get admission to pharmacy courses in AICTE approved institutions.

Q2. Is there any attempt limit for the GPAT exam like one candidate should write the exam only 2 or 3 times?

A2. There is no limit on the number of attempts for the GPAT exam. There is no age limit for taking the GPAT entrance examination 2021.

Q3. My GPAT application form examination fee is not responding since morning. Is it due to a server problem or some other issues? Is there a way to solve it?

A3. On the last day of application fee payment for the examination, there's a lot of traffic on the portal. It's because of a technical issue.
